My wife an I just saw the movie called "Pixels". This is about old video games from the 80's coming to life. My wife and I thought it was a good movie (not great), but we began to talk about what if we did not know about all the video games in the movie, wouldn't that make it tough to follow the movie? I understand the video games they used in the movie were iconic and you may know something about the games, but I just can't see me wanting to see this movie if I did not understand each of these games.
I am just curious, have you ever seen this movie and your younger and were not around when these games were popular?

Pacman is a classic game that I still play up to now. I didnt know that Donkey Kong is also a part of the movie, I have also played that game. Now you can tell that I'm older than 25 Is the movie worth watching? I will look for a copy if it would worth my 2 hours time

I enjoyed it (I would give it 3 1/2 stars out of 5), but it is hard to imagine if I was 18 years old right now that I would actually likie the movie. To me, the connection to the classic games was entertaining,

@CaptAlbertWhisker @mypointsju actually I was tempted to watch this on cinema but I failed to do so. I'll watch this on small screen. I don't know if this was a hit here in the Philippines but some people I know are not even familiar with the movie

@EddieHands Sure, since you're the wizard, your wish is my command. That makes me a wizard too.

@EddieHands I would not go buy the movie, but it sure brought back good memories from the 80'S.

@EddieHands 80's was fun. The music I would not call it the best, but it was different and I liked it.

I did see the movie Pixels with my 26 year old daughter and it brought back so many memories for me. I remember the games well, back in the eighties, I was a huge gamer. So it was fun reliving the memories of Pac Man, Donkey Kong, etc. (by the way I am 47) So after the movie came out on Blue Ray, I bought it right away and we had family movie night-it was a great day.

I saw this movie few months ago. I am so amazed the creator of pacman is in this movie. I am a 90's kid and I started playing games during the ps1 era, though I did play Street Fighter II.
I am a 90's kid who is now 30, So I am not really a huge fan of 80's games but I did play Pacman, Gataca, Mario and some games featured on this movie.

@mypointsju I play both until now even though both games now uses 3d graphics,
Did you Know, Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade got married. They have a daughter named Cassie. Well because Mortal Kombat is fighting game. You can make the Cage family kill each other though in storyline they wont.
Because Johnny and his daughter were very close. She seemed to hate Sonya's guts though.

I have seen it, but I am a little older than 25 :) My youngest son, however, is only 11 and he has seen it. I think he was 10 when he watched it, and he enjoyed it. But he's my little Retro-gamer so he did have an idea of some of the games. But he likes that kind of thing, he likes silly films, even if he doesn't know some of the background/influences.

Both of my children liked the movie. I thought it was okay but not great. I remembered pretty much all the video game characters in the movie except for Lady Luck or whatever her name was. I am in my early 30s by the way.

Our 6 year old watched it, and didn't seem to have a problem following the story. You don't have to know the games, just know that they ARE games.

Pixels was a massive box office bomb so even those familiar with the games didn't care about seeing it.

I did not know that. We get Netflix movies mailed to us and between my wife and I we just throw things on it and then we are surprised when it arrives. I dont look at how well it did (maybe I should).
