I water them once a week. In the winter, and in the summer. I don't give the liquid food, but i should do that (...)
When i water them, the water drips out of the container and i give them a very large amount of water. The water must be allowed to flow away. The centre of the roots must not dry out.
Good luck with the beauties.

I agree! I so look forward to the blooms. I have moved from the North to the deep south...and they are just not blooming like they used to. Perhaps I am watering too much? The new climate is so different I think and they need time adjusting perhaps? I am curious- how often do you water your orchids and how much water?

Yes, I am a certified orchidholic. My collection started less than a year ago when my now passed fiance brought me one. We then took a class on how to take care of them and the result is a collection of over 100 and growing! I am a member of the American Orchid Society, Denver Orchid Socitey and Denver Botanical Gardens. They are much easier to care for than houseplants and I find them far more interesting. With over 80,000 species there is always something more to learn, view, and enjoy.

Yes, I really like orchids. I think they are very pretty. But I've never gotten one as a gift yet, I would like to though.
