eBay auctions

Have you purchased anything thru eBay via their auctions? What was the best deal you think you got from the site? In my case, I only buy small items like nail polish and cosmetics and loved the site! I do my research on the "regular online price" from other websites to make sure I am getting a good deal from it and don't overbid!

I think accessories are a good idea to buy online. Yeah, with the horror stories with customs, it might be tricky to buy something internationally - you might not even get it in the end!

@cessy_08 true. i wont ever buy outside Phil. even if its too cheap. and im not sure if ebay do refunds if their customers didnt get the product. but even getting myself to that point is too much of a hassle.

@MGjhaud So long as you use paypal to pay for it, then you can open a dispute and paypal gives you a guarantee you'll get the refund. I had a couple of items I won from auctions that shipped from China and never got it. I messaged the seller and she was just happy to refund me instead of opening a dispute against her store!

I once bought a used book that's still in good condition. I guess I made a good deal. I'm scared to buy pricey items like a camera or cellphone. I'd rather buy them from the store.

Oh what book was it? I think buying books from eBay is a good thing for me to do, too! I love to read books by Haruki Murakami and new books are quite pricey!

@rhymeblue Hmm, I think the author sounds familiar to me. Yeah, I actually like to buy new books but it just ends up gathering dust after I am done reading them. So buying secondhand seems better..

@cessy_08 if I can remember it right, it's by Ernest Hemingway, now I forgot the title, lol. I think I paid half of the original price when it was brand new. Yes new books are pricey and I usually buy used ones to save

I won a couple of auctions because I waited to bid on the last minute. So I make sure to check what time it will end and place my bid on the last 30 seconds :)

Are you a coin collector? O_O How was your experience so far buying gadgets thru eBay? I am afraid to buy something electronic maybe not unless it's something of smaller value like hair dryer but not laptops or camera.

I adore ebay. It is a great site for good finds, not found elsewhere for sure. One can be very frugal on there as well. I used to also sell there, I would find stuff to sell. I find it great also for jeans..vintage bells and so on.

I prefer buy it now items as you can decide if you like the total price or not. I have done some bidding many years ago and sometimes got items but never went over a price I was comfortable with.

Oh yeah definitely. I also bought a number of items at regular price but there were a couple that I wanted to gamble for a cheaper rate. Well, not unless I overbid. LOL!

Yeah it is a good place to shop for cheaper, isn't it? Have you bought anything from the International stores? Or just the local eBay?
