Iris, Elderberry, rain is coming and we are going to the coast

This pretty yellow iris in front of our deep green elderberry bush caught my eye yesterday when the sun finally came out. Cool spring weather has returned to Oregon and some rain is on its way. We are headed over to the Oregon coast for three days, so I may not be around much. After talking about going and watching the unseasonably warm weather come and go, we made reservations overlooking the Pacific in out favorite little village or Yachats (Yahots). Sweatshirts and slickers may be in order, but we will have a great time anyway and eat our fill of fresh-caught seafood. I am taking my iPad and hope to keep up a bit from there when I am not wave and whale gazing.

Vacations are lovely along the coast, no matter the weather. Have fun. when you get back, let us know which town you were in, so those of us looking for a nice place will have one to add to our vacation location list.

We nearly always stay in the little town of Yachats and this time we are staying at the Adobe, right on the ocean. It is not far (20 minutes) from the larger town of Newport, another favorite spot.

great shot! no doubt seein' that sunshine brought out many highlights' f yer garden. hope y'all've a grand time'n yer mini holiday. i'd sure not mind watchin' whales ('r jest the ocean fer that matter) whilst dinin' 'pon the finest the ocean's to offer.
