Fell down the stairs while carrying my son

Every night before I go to bed I wake my 8 year old son up and carry him down to the bathroom to use the toilet.
I just did that and while carrying him down I slipped and we fell down the last few stairs.
I hit my back and shoulder blades and the back of my head the worst. Its going to be really sore tomorrow.
I landed with my son still in my arms and he landed in my lap. He said his shin hurt and his forehead. His forehead has a red brush burn type mark on it.
I am just so very thankful he is okay. I was terrified when I landed that he would have a broken leg.

Today my son had a tiny little spot that was a bit skinned on his forehead and shin. Everything else looks good and didn't look bad at all. I haven't looked my body over yet but it doesn't feel to bad. I am slightly achy but really so much better then I had expected so I am glad!

You need to be sensible about this. your boy is probably too heavy for you to carry downstairs. What if something bad had happened to you and you couldn't take care of your kids? Maybe you could get one of those bottles the hospital uses for men.
Please tell me you don't carry him back upstairs.

I'm about 110 lbs he is about 65 lbs. He is pretty heavy but not to heavy for me to carry. I have been doing this for years I just happened to slip. It is the first time it has ever happened. My slippers I think are too slippery on those stairs. He walks back up the stairs by himself but is tired when I wake him up and gets really disoriented so I carry him down to the bathroom.

Oh no. Stairs are always a scare to me - and I will normally not dare carry my baby as I am climbing up or down stairs.
I would highly recommend that you both get yourself examined. Falls from stairs can be severe. Glad that nothing major seems to have happened to you or your son. But you may not be as lucky everytime. So in case you can, please avoid the stairs.

When my daughter was about 2 years old I fell down the stairs with her in my arms. She was on my hip at the time and it hurt her leg. Nothing severe but it was sore and she wouldn't walk on it for two days. She is almost 12 and this is the first time since then that I have fallen down the stairs while carrying my children. I tend to trip when I am going up the stairs alone very often lol.

We are both okay today. My son doesn't seem bad at all but I think I took the most of the fall. I am slightly sore today but not too bad. Hopefully I don't get stiff and sore later on tonight. If i do at least I will have gotten everything done during the day so I can just relax at night. I bought a movie to watch later with my man at the store today.

Earlier when I was driving home from the dentist my back got really sore. I don't know why. Maybe from the bumps or just sitting in the same spot for a long drive. Hopefully it won't bother me anymore tonight.
