My Cat is a Princess

I say this with all due respect. She is a wonderful companion but I have learned that I can never predict what she will do...or like for that matter. I had a friend staying with me who had a teen daughter with her. The girl fell in love with my cat Gabby. So when we all went shopping together, the girl suggested we buy Gabby a collar. A collar, I thought. Gabby is an indoor cat and I am sure she would never stand for such a thing. Then I saw the bright pink collar with a small crown emblazoned on the back and rhinestones all around. "Never in a million years" I said to myself but I did not want to turn down such a thoughtful gift. Bottom line...My princess loves the collar and I am thinking now it is because of the crown and jewels. Go figure.

My cousin had a cat that was the queen of her domain. Very very mean, if you'd get up she'd sit down where you had just sat and refuse to move when you returned, hissing. All the cats that I've owned have been tame for the most part, though when I was a child we had one that bit me and was swiftly thrown to the wild after that.

Gabby is a very sweet and intelligent cat. She likes to respond when you talk to her. The only thing she is particular about is that she loves to be on the stool in the picture above. She does not want to be on the ground and will sit among the humans on her stool as if part of the conversation. (And no I am not a crazy cat lady...I don't think)

@desertdawg It's a beautiful cat. She is by a fireplace in the picture, so the warmth could have part to do with it. Cats are VERY intelligent creatures, i'm not saying htey are more so than dogs, but they are very sneaky when they want to be. I love cats myself but don't own any.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I do think they are intelligent. Some people may think not because cats seem not to follow commands. I think though it is a matter of a cat will do what it chooses to do oftentimes...versus most dogs will follow commands routinely.

Gabby is a cute cat and I am sure that she feels she is a Princess and this is the reason why she loves the collar.

@LadyDuck Thank you. She is so even tempered and perhaps when I carry that stool around for her, she feels a bit privileged.

Thank Michael. I got her for a gift and they say she is a "ragdoll". I think that means a Himalayan and Siamese but I could care less if she was an alley cat. Gabby is the best. IF anyone knows, I am sure they will chime in.

Your picture of Gabby looks exactly like the momma kitty I just rescued and believe it or not, I named her Princess @desertdawg .

I have had such a hard day!!!!
Good for you for rescuing her. Mine should have been name Princess too. Sometimes it is too much trouble for her to sit up on her throne.

Well, you do refer her as Your Royal Highness! That's a regal cat.

@JohnRoberts Despite the "cover" this regal cat is probably more affectionate and even listens (she comes when you call her) unlike most alley cats I have had. I guess I will concede that perhaps the collar is her "guilty pleasure". Thanks for your comments, she would appreciate them.
