since my school days I was very curious about human subspecies,i always thougt why humans dont hav subspecies after all we have different ethnicities & we can surely be categorized into many subspecies, jst lyk any other animal, who are categorized into various subspecies according to their built & appearances.

There have been several subspecies of humans in the past - Neanderthal, Denisovian are two and there may have been more. It seems that those subspecies were less adaptable and that they became extinct as distinct species, though there is evidence that they interbred with H. Sapiens. In any case, ALL humans living today are genetically a single species.

@lastsamurai Yes, But although the race became extinct, H. Sapiens and H. neanderthalensis interbred and most modern humans in Europe and the Middle East have a small amount of Neanderthal DNA, though there is none at all in Africa,

@owlwings probably it is done so that there is no conflict among the human race, already there are many differences.

There's already enough division among humans thanks to racism, classism, etc. Putting everybody into subspecies is just adding to the problem.

you are right,i was just trying to find a scientific logic behind it,for eg. tigers have 8 subspecies, based on size weight & place of origin & similarly for other animals, then why not for us
