Scrabble isn't a game that I've ever really played often. When our son was very young, we had a Disney Childrens version of it that we'd play on occasion.

@AnneEJ I have seen some of the newer versions, some have the squares inset so if the board is jared the letters stay in place

The game I have is old. My daughter has a new version that the board turns around and it is much nicer.

That's too bad. My husband and I used to play, but we also played Skipbo or Phase 10 a lot as well.

My daughter and I play scrabble all through the school holidays - she is at a school working, so she has holidays as well. We even see who has the best score at the end, and that one gets the treat.

Scrabble is one of my favourite games too. I play it with my sister, but she is not here. so we play together online, and as you said its not as much fun if you played it face to face.

bless yer heart, i love scrabble (the board game, not the one'n the puter..ick) 'n used to play fer hours with my young'uns when they were growin'. 'twas the easiest way to get 'em to learn to use a dictionary, lol. some folks'd call that cheatin', i called't homeschoolin' :D

It can be a long game sometimes. When I play with my grandsons, we set a timer or some of them would take too long trying to find a word.

My first time to hear about Scrabble Day - this put me to smile

I'm a scrabble enthusiast, but I play this through Facebook. As much as I want to play on board, I can't find someone to play with. I am ok playing it online on facebook because my opponents there are real people anyway, its just that we play online
