Here's a Laugh...(age related)

When I went to the dentist yesterday he had a new assistant helping chair-side. She was cute and pleasant and took me to the exam room. With my knees being so stiff it's hard for me to bend them and it was a bit of an ordeal trying to get comfortable in the chair. Just for conversation sake I said "it's not much fun getting old". To this she replied " I know! my mom is going to be 50 and says that all the time and tells me that I should enjoy being young. I'm already 28 and am starting to feel old" I seriously had to laugh because this young lady is a baby compared to me and her mom is the same age as my oldest daughter. At least I got a good laugh at the dentists yesterday

Marilyn, I know exactly what you are saying. It even embarrasses me that I can't go down to the altar when we have altar prayer and bend down on my knees. I sit on the front row along with others in my very same condition. And yes, it does sadden me. I say keep up with good exercise and keep everything flexible. I can remember my Mom saying so many years ago, "If you don't use it, you will lose it." and I do believe she is correct. Love you Marilyn.

Sadly I've lost it and my knees keep me from doing lots of things I'd want to do if they would just cooperate. The rest of me is doing pretty well so at times it's really frustrating being limited because of my stupid knees

I say "Use it or lose it" all the time. It applies to many things.

My body feels old, I dont necessarily feel old and I am not much older than here but I am in my thirties. I feel like once you get into your 30's things start to go down hill. I remember when I turned 30 I found this long hair growing out of my arm, it was about 2 inches long i know gross! but that was a sign of oh no .. its coming :-)

@Castlerock34 . . . Come on, young, pretty lady. 30 is not old! Woman at age 30 is like a blooming orchids flowers! In fact, they say that life begins at 40!

@Castlerock34 O, I thought you were in your 30's! Sorry for my mistake. So, you are much younger than I thought then!

You're as old as you feel. Some days I feel 20 and some days I feel my real age. The young lady will find out just how young she feels at 28 compared to how she will feel years from now. LOL

Thank God I have been Blessed with still feeling much younger than what I am. My husband is 4 years older than me and has been complaining for years about how bad his body hurts. I just shake my head because if he already complains this much at 35 I cannot imagine how he's going to feel at 80!

That's almost as bad as a really thin female says to an overweight person, "I can't eat that I'm too fat as it is." give me a break!

I often wish there were a rewind button at a certain age, like at age 70 we start going backward. Although I want not want to get any young than 18. That whole puberty and youth thing was for the birds.

I certainly wouldn't want to go back and go through puberty or those teenage years ...once was enough! However, I'd love to go back in time when I could run and jump and not think about going up or down stairs

We all compare ages by our own, so at 20 years old 50 seems very olkd whereas at 67 years old I consider 50 to be very young.

@Marilynda1225 We also hated being young and looked forward to being a little older, whereas now we would love to be young again.

I know what you mean about being stiff. This young lady is way too young to feel old.

It's always a hoot to hear what young people consider "old". LOL And we do have to keep laughing about it, don't we? :)

The closer I get to fifty, the younger it seems.

Age is a number. Some at 30 can't function like a 50 yr old and sometimes an 80 yr old can put a 30 yr old to shame. By the way I think I am doing good for my age, 45.

That sounds funny, I'm a nurse and have been for over 20 years and I now feel old when student nurses ask how long I've been nursing and they tell me they weren't born when I qualified
