ok, I know this is one of the statues of Easter Island, and i believe the statues represent the gods of that time, but i've forgotten..and yes, i would love to go and explore this place

i just know that they are made of volcanic ashes and usually found in Chile.it is monolithic statue.It is considered as one of the new seven wonders.I dont know about the myths and historical backgound.if you know let all the members know about it as it is very interesting and informative.

After reading your question I did a seach and found that these stone statues on Easter Island is believe to represent ancestors,chiefs or other high-ranking males in the history of Easter island.
actually Easter Island was called Rapa Nui by the people of the island.

Yes, I think its Easter Island and I was there many years ago when flying from Australia to Chile. Beautiful place! Actually you have just inspired me to write about that trip, as our Lan Chile plane was highjacked and we were forced to stay in the island for a few days! Great experience, makes a good story too!

I think thats Easter Islands because I have saw a documentary about it. It seems a lovely place to be there.
