I have noted that for any celebrity out there, most people especially the media and bloggers are on the lookout for the happenings concerning any celebrity be it the personal life, career and all kinds of gossip. So whatever a celebrity is doing gets all the publicity. This publicity sometimes brings about incidents of a celebrity pointing an accusing finger to maybe a blogger who has written a false story about the celebrity.
I think any celebrity expects unconfirmed rumors to just sprout up because all eyes seem to be fixed on anything concerning them be it negative or positive.

Celebrity is being a person known by a majority of population and a person that does not know the people who recognise him/her. You may be known for your work, because of your family or because of who you are. And its always fascinating to read about or to know about a person you know. Actors for example are people known to almost everyone. So everyone is curious about how he/she is in her personal life. What it is like. Though we are not celebrities we like seeing friends updating their stories on social networking sites. Same is case with celebrities just a small difference is that a lot of people are interested in their life as they are, well celebrities.

@waflay I forgot to mention about rumours though. It is a kind of negative publicity, I mean sometimes it makes them famous and bring them into the limelight. It is not the case always. It can also create a negative image of a celebrity. Sometimes haters create rumours. Its tough being a celebrity I think.

One may not like it, and they shouldn't, but it is a reality of the business...even news media in the mainstream make their living off of things like that...one second they will be a hero, and the next people will turn on them...I'm glad I'm not famous, I couldn't handle that:/

I also would like to know about them but I don't waste my time, meaning a cursory look is more than enough.
Media competes with one another to spread gossip.
It is also said the celebrities themselves spread news to be in the limelight - siva
