Kalimera everyone - that means Greek for Good Morning! Kalimera Katerina Its been a very different week for me and since Friday has arrived quite too soon, I am much at a loss for what to say. My heel is feeling a little better and hopefully I shall be able to bowl to the best of my abilities tomorrow. I still havent caught up on any of the sleep I lost Tuesday evening, but I am sure on Sunday it will be crash time! To Valerie who has had such a trying week with the passing of her father. I hope that the floods of writing from the east have a little more to say today otherwise I might put a tot of something in my morning tea! My hubby and I chase Lighthouses, that means we seek them on our travels and walk, drive, ride, boat, do almost anything to find them. Today my middle daughter - The Ballet teacher has reached a new milestone in her life - She will be buying a new car and saying goodbye to her very first car she got at the age of 21. I am a little teary myself, so I am not sure how she is feeling. How does one wish a person with a new car "all the Best" in the finest way ? What are your superstitions or beliefs with a new car? Happy Friday - mine is almost like a messed up picnic basket - full or all sorts! photo is of the Cape Coloumbine Lighthouse

When my husband was alive we used to chase lighthouses, too! The one you've pictured here is lovely! I'd never seen that one before. We spent our honeymoon along the coast of Maine visiting as many of the lighthouses as we could get to! We even walked 2 miles out on a breakwater to see a lighthouse out at the end. Those were the days. Now I have to chase lighthouses online. But at least I can go all over the world.

@Inlemay I'm going to look that one up. Thanks! I love finding new ones. I used to be friendly with a photographer in Ireland who took photographs of lighthouses out there for postcards. He sent quite a few of his photos to us. They were incredible.

How can Friday possibly arrive too soon?? What madness is that you're spouting???? The only belief I have, regarding a new car, is that one shouldn't crash it Good luck with the bowling!!!

@Inlemay actually, thinking about it, the belief, regarding a new car, should really be applied to all cars. Crashing any car, new or otherwise is generally not a good thing!!!

I consider our cars like "pets", it breaks my heart when we have to change the car. I am not superstitious, but...

@Inlemay My husband is thinking to sell our 35 years old sport car. I know we almost never use it, but I know that it will break my heart to see "her" go.

that's great news 'bout'cher heel, hon. sure hope ya don't re-injure't 'n blow'em away with yer bowlin'. i dunno if'n one can catch'p'n their sleep? if'n such's possible, i might jest sleep 'bout 3 weeks solid some day :D my deepest condolences to ms. valerie, i hope she finds comfort 'n knowin' he's'n a better place. those seem to be gettin' more'n more? dunno why...seems some folks've kinda given'p'n the idea'f writin' somethin' more since the requirements here're so lax. pitiful...i've actually quit visitin' with some folks due to jest that. not that my dribbles're earth shatterin', but't least they're more'n 2 lines, lol. i bet that's quite fascinatin', huntin' down those lighthouses. 'n to share that passion with yer hubs'd be priceless. 's fer the new car? first, a big congrats to yer daughter'n all her success. dunno what one says/does fer such'n occasion? i'm kinda a paranoid momma'n tend to give my young'uns odd schtuff - like a new first aid kit, make sure they've still got their lil air tank that plugs into their auto 'n weird schtuff like that :) happy friday! i've my fingers crossed the weather folks've got't wrong fer the day..

I like the suggestiveness of paranoid momma - that I am most certainly, so I have already gotten a St Christopher for safe travels and I suppose a good first aid kit would be fitting. Thanks for your in-depth response - I love that you had this chat with me.

Thank you for the mention. For me this was a long and short week. It moved fast and slow. I think you'll know what to say when you see the new car. I hope it's all she's looking for and it doesn't turn out to be a lemon. I love your picnic basket metaphor

Kalimera Lany - it's still Friday here - just. I hope the new car suits your daughter. For me a car is just a means of getting from A to B, no sentimental value. I'm alittle tired of the eastern floods too

I am frustrated with my feet, I am doing the stretches, and wearing the insoles but they are not better. I prob need to try yet another boot like object to sleep in. Previous versions just simply didn't work, or I kicked them off, which again, i didn't work.

I have no knowledge about superstitions and new cars...but I highly suggest that it is a good idea to discover all the new things the car does before you take it on a road trip. (I couldn't open the window at the border crossing). I love lighthouses too, the ones on Lake Ontario (the water I live next to) and unimpressive and not too exciting but I love visiting them when found on the Atlantic Coast or Gulf of Mexico...Your photo is awesome.

Inlemay, I would love to go chasing those lighthouses with you. My kitchen is done in the seascape theme and I have many lighthouses among the house and deck. I love them. I have gone to the top of many of them, and the view is awesome. Have a great time. Love to you.

I cried when my sons bought their second vehicles. I raised them to stand on their own two feet, so I don't know why it upset me when I saw evidence of my success. They will always be my sons but they aren't my little boys any more.

We don't have any superstitions about new cars that I can think of now.
