Former Washington Redskins linebacker Jackson Jeffcoat was claimed off waivers on Friday by the Cleveland Browns. Jackson is the son of former Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills defensive end Jim Jeffcoat who played in the National Football League from 1983-1997. Jackson was an undrafted free agent in the 2014 National Football League Draft who tried out to make the Seattle Seahawks football team before he was released before the start of the season. The Washington Redskins signed Jeffcoat to their practice team on September 2, 2014. Jeffcoat played nine games in the seasons with the team. Jeffcoat was placed on the injured reserved list by the Redskins on November 7, 2015 which ended his playing time during his final year with the team. Jeffcoat was released by the Redskins on Thursday. Jeffcoat will be competing for a linebacker and defensive end position with the Cleveland Browns during the training camp sessions this year.

That is true. It appears that Jackson has struggled landing a career in the National Football League despite being the son of a former star football player.
