It is more then OK. You should some yours mine and ours accounts. That way you can save some for you but yet save together for things. If you wanted to buy something for you or for your spose you wouldn't have to talk about taking money out to do it. The ours could be for trips, a home, acar or something you can both use.

We have a joint account. However, I do think it is perfectly fine to have your own. We have just chosen to make all the money we make "our" money. It is whatever works for your relationship!

I think it's a good idea to have two accounts. (Although I am sometimes a suspicious person, and I would really like to see my husband's accout, too. But that's something that is a personal issues, and one which I need to get over.)
It's good to have a joint account-- to pay the bills, to mutually buy things, etc. But you also need to have something to yourself-- so that you can feel that you have some independence. You need to be able to have something of your own, where you don't have to talk with someone else to use it from all of the time. Also, if you want to buy your significant other a gift, the surprise needn't be ruined if you are able to use your separate account.

I think it is a good thing. Men usually spend to much. This way I can save something for a rainy day. You know?
