Thrashing Around in Your Sleep?

Has anyone else here woken themselves up by thrashing around in their sleep? I have several time recently. It's really odd, the first time I remembered doing it, I woke myself up after I punched my bedside table, The other night I woke myself up after I literally kicked the metal radiator which is on the wall next to my bed... so much so, I now have a very bruised and sore toe! Seriously I must have been having some serious dreams recently, I only wish I could remember them lol!

I do wake up a lot when I sleep. I don't necessarily sleep at night as I have no real sleep pattern. Sometimes I'll go to bed at 3pm and other times at 5am. I wake up through dreaming.

It's strange isnt it.... we all have different sleep patterns... usually I go to bed around 10pm and fall asleep around 11pm my alarm goes off at 7am for work during the week, and I still feel shattered, how is that even possible? Perhaps all those dreams lol

@rosie230 could be the dreams I have no kids and currently don't need to work although I'm trying to change the work situation. I think sleeping when it is dark does have health benefits from what I have read but I more often than not sleep in the day and am awake at night. Maybe look at a natural sleep aid and if that doesn't work maybe a more strong sleep tablet.

@Mike197602 I can only sleep at night, Ive never really been someone that can sleep during the day, even when my children were babies and i should have caught up with sleep during the day. I also can only sleep in my bed, I never fall asleep on the sofa unless Im really unwell, and even then its a struggle. I much prefer my bed

Many of times. I've even given myself bruises. I've thrashed, yelled some obscenities, kicked my husband (he now refuses to sleep next to me), I have thrown things. From what my mom said, my grandmother was the same way, she actually broke a toe from thrashing and moving around when she was sleeping.

Wow really?!?! Phew at least I am not the only one lol, however thats awful really that someone could hurt themselves just from sleeping. I know I talk in my sleep, my partner always informs me lol, but this thrashing about is quite new really.

@rosie230 It is, but this isn't something I really take pride over. In fact I'm told it's quite scary.

My husband punched me in the middle of the night one time. He said he was fighting with a monster in his dreams. I cry in my sleep. I have never been violent.

When I was younger I used to kick the crap out of my wall while I was asleep and I would wake up and see little dents on my walls and was puzzled by that until my mom told me I kick in my sleep. I dont think I do it anymore though
