My family owns two dogs, cute little ones they are. They like to play with everyone and are very friendly. They don't bark on visitors or even strangers that pass our house. I suppose this two little fellows aren't fit for the job of being a guard dog. But the danger in our neighborhood is rising and we need someone to alarm as if an evil doer is at our stronghold(lol). Im thinking of buying a guard dog, but I cant seem to decide on what breed I should raise. A loyal, smart, easy to train, and reliable guard dog is what we need. Any suggestions on what dog I should purchase?

Chihuahua can be very noisy and mini pinch too. But if you want people to get really scared and stay away, get a doberman or a rhott.

@PapaBits They are and they're not really the best pets, not even good for children. They're small but terrible.

True, doberaman and rottweiler are scary as hell. As for the budget, I can only afford to have askal at the moment haha. I have to save money first. Chihuahua can be so annoying sometimes.

Chihuahua would be great if your intention is just to alarm the people in the house.

You can get a very small one. Chihuahua is very fierce, and though they are small, they can bite. If not, you can get those large dogs, but large dogs eat too much.

Yes, I had a chihuahua before, and its very fierce. But the problem is its size. Haha anyone can easily kick them away. I think of having the big ones but it will cost me huge to feed them.

@PapaBits In this case, get a few chihuahua dogs! It will very efficient, and cheap to keep a few of them at home. The way all the dogs bark will scare away the robbers.

You could just get an askal from the PAWS center in ortigas. or if you have a neighbor that has plenty of puppies, better buy one now and look for the mother.

My daughter is trying to buy a house and wants two Chihuahuas in it. I told her how yappy they are, but she is stubborn, can't imagine where that trait came from.

I think one chihuahua is enough. They can get super annoying.

Labrador is also a good guard dog. With strong jaws and paws. Labradors has an issue though. It bites its owner when its very hungry,.

I have no idea here. Lol! So your dogs are friendly with strangers. I can see that would make for a poor guard dog.

They're poodles. They dont look scary at all. I think burglars will just pet them then continue robbing our place. LOL

What you need is a dog like the one on the picture.
