I'm sure it's fun to watch them play with the laser. My cat plays with the powder puffs that come in loose powder compacts. I use a powder brush instead of the puff, so I give them to him. He bats them around and carries them around in his mouth.

@lovebeingmummy2 Yes, cats are entertaining when they are awake.

Our younger cat loves the laser. The one we have is also a pen and when I am using it as a pen she will sit at my feet and wait. When I realize she is wanting me to turn the laser on she will look at me as if to say "anytime now!" Our older cat is not at all interested in playing with it. She is past the need for play.

My cat will play with anything that is 1/10 its size. My cat can push the little thing with its two hands as if it were playing racket ball.

You can never go wrong with just a piece of string to amuse cats.

They certainly do. Someone sent me something and my cat went wild over it. She loves papers and gathers them on and puts them between her paws and plays with them. She loves teasing flies.

I don't have a pet but my mom does have a chihuahua who likes to play with her rubber doggy treats and a bouncing red ball.
I've seen those videos of cats going crazy following laser pointers. So much fun!

When I had a cat, yeh we'd play with it for hours-it never got old for us...well, actually, it got kinda old for him I think;), then he'd just get mad at me because everytime he got close to catching it on the wall he'd realize it magically slipped through his paws and then he'd just get mad at me and for some reason attack one of the house plants which he viewed as attainable payback-I miss him:/.

We have 3 pitbulls at my parents' place. They don't play. They just eat. They play with their plates/saucers when they are hungry, trying to tell us that they want food.
