How do you define success?

Some people measure their success through career earnings, others through fame or prestige, and a select few through their level of happiness or personal satisfaction. As for me, I would consider myself successful if I'm able to live up to my potentials and use whatever skills I've been blessed with for the betterment of society. So yeah, my overall contentment matters more than money, fame or power. What about you guys?

Success for me is seeing my students grow and learn and achieve their goals in life.

I'd say you're very altruistic. That in itself makes you successful.

I'm not emotionally, financially and spiritually burden to the society and to my children, so I feel successful .. "Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it" , Dalai Lama .. I gave up the opportunity to accumulate more material things in order to feel peace within.. .

Touche! I am glad a lot of people here don't equate success with material wealth and reputation.

To wake up every morning and not have to financially fret over health costs, gas prices, rising food costs, insurance bills. Not about being a billionaire but to be in a position to relax and not worry about how to pay for medication.

To have a career on what I am truly keen on and to help prevent beautiful things from disappearing from this planet.
