I told you a few weeks ago about a friend who I was very worried about. She was toying with a "gentlemen" that I was sure was trying to take advantage of the situation. I was at my wits end but told her what I thought and then backed away, saying that it was her decision to make and that I'm would always be around to talk if she wanted to. She updated me this morning with a note that she was going to email him. I was so relieved. She told him what she thought of his proposal and wanted to slow their relationship down. Red flags had been going up like fireworks but finally, she began to see them. I can sit back and relax I think... and I hope that he turns out to be everything she wants him to be!!

That is something you really truly know about. People can hide their true selves for years. Red flags or not, some people are just manipulators.

@Hate2Iron Then it is something about her personality or the way she talks to them.

Unfortunately for her, they seem to zero in on her!

Those red flags are not to be ignored. I hope things work out for your friend but only time will tell. You are a good friend to be there for her if she needs to talk.

It's scary to watch a friend be on a fast track to trouble or heartbreak.

I'm glad that she's heeded your advice. Is this an online relationship?

I hope all goes well for your friend. It sounds as if your friend could really use a true friend. If there's red flags then she really should examine things.
