She had it twice - 2

Two times my sister went through a situation more or less similar.... I have written about first time, which anyway was told before. And you should read that first. Here goes for the... Second time: Exactly one month ago, on March 17th my sister had it again. All of us siblings have scattered throughout the country, brother not even in country, except for her. In the early weeks of month fell the wedding anniversary of our parents. And there was a plan to make it special. As we were all away, she took the responsibility of organizing the party. There were things to do. We planned for the gifts (she helped me choose mine) and the decorations and events for that day. And we sent those gifts and bouquets. It was a success. I am still amazed how she managed it. Pictures were shared and you could just see how beautifully everything was done. Then she made those delicacies too. Our parents were really happy. So were we... They had the picture taken as couple. It was me who collected it from studio when I went home later. There were copies made, for each of us siblings. Cherished memories. One week later, my father started having cough problems. Or, I should say cold problems. Checked with the doctor and he said nothing to worry about. It would pass. There was little burning sensation in chest due to gastronomical reasons. Second night, he was quite uneasy so very early in morning both him and my mother decided to go for the doctor. They got ready and were about to leave when my father complained about sever chest pain. His sentence finished or unfinished, he collapsed. Everything was ready, so he was rushed to the hospital where they said he's already gone. Another hospital, same pronouncement. I was on my way to work when got this news. It's very difficult arranging a travel from here to home. And there were some hindrances. So I reached late in night. More than 12 hours later. I don't know what my sister felt. She was asleep when I got home. And I could never get myself to ask. But to me it seems it was same as first incident. But that time I got up eventually. My father never did. I have always had problem sharing news. Many friends in offline world were angry with me about this. But today one month completes, and if I don't share now then when will I....

I don't know what to say. "I am sorry for your loss" is a sentence I do not like. So, I would pray for your family to get through this troubled time and pray for the peace for your father.

Thanks. Though some were unsettled when I stated this, but I do feel like him being near around. And then there is something which reminds me of him. Brings a smile whenever I touch it.

@vandana7 Your father should really take care of his medicines. That's the only thing I don't like about him...

@hora_fugit ... I live in constant fear of losing my only parent. He is almost 82. The longest living man in our family that I knew lived till 87. I am constantly looking for somebody who lived longer kind. My father does not take medicines and that makes it tougher for me. I can really understand when you say "there is something which reminds me of him". There is a lot.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. Sometimes right when you are planning a celebration of life- that's when the unthinkable happens. Makes us glad that we had a get together to show our appreciation and celebration of the people in our lives- our parents family and friends. Your father cherished you and you, he and your mother. That was the greatest present of all.
