Why do people back into a parking space?

I see people doing this and I think it's stupid. They have to back in and pull out 3 or 4 times before they can get it straight. By the time they do this,they could have pulled in and backed out 3 times. Why do people do this?

It is safer in a crowded place like a restaurant or Walmart. It is dangerous to back out with cars and people coming from every direction. It is easier to back in and pull out seeing what is around you.

If they had a back up camera.No problem.The reason they do this.Lot of drivers are uneasy in backing up.

Easier to pull out when they leave. I personally don't.
