Interesting question. I haven't had cable in years. This streaming stuff seems to be quite the thing. (I don't have it, either.)

Someday there will be no cable or satellite just streaming. I do have Roku for streaming but still have satellite to get sports and other programming.

I have had a Roku for about five years now. We have internet and phone from the cable company but no TV service. There are thousands of free channels on Roku, plus I have Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. As for anything else, there is a Youtube channel on Roku and honestly, with YouTube, you don't need anything else. Youtube also broadcasts important live events, like political debates, etc. There are channels that bring you live news, too. I can get Sky News live from the UK on my Roku.
