Why is blue for boys and pink for girls?

Okay, I am wondering why society has associated blue for boys and pink for girls? It makes no sense.

Boys are always on hot, so they like to cool them selves with blue. Where as girls are so shy and want to allow others to initiate anything for them, so they likes penatrating color of pink as their choice. Its natural to select opposite taste, thats the logic.
