I think the school grading system is very corrupted. Most of the schools are under the impression that test scores and final exam scores are showing how smart an individual is...Wrong! Grades do not test a students smarts they test obedience. So to fail a student because of bad grades is outrages. you never know how "smart" that student is but nobody will ever find out because the grading system is corrupted!

When I hire people in my company, I don't look at their grades. I look at their personality.

I don't know where you come from, but I feel for you. Lately I have been frustrated with this issue, too. My son will be going to the middle school in September. But the school graduating system doesn't make a sense and it makes every parent crazy. I hope I can hear some good news soon and my son can go to a good middle school.

That's so true.
I've heard that they're starting to change the way they grade students, I hope they do.

When I taught high school, the ONLY way a kid could fail my class was if they didn't attend class or refuse to do the classwork. Most of our work was in class that we did together and I could judge who knew the material. I also refused to let kids fail work...anything below a 70% they got to redo until they got a better score. Grades overall don't mean much, its understanding the content that is important.

My question would be how would you grade a student without test scores or final exams?
