There are certain tools which are used for cleaning purpose in the Indian kitchen. One such tool is Winnow This is used for removing dust and other minute light particles from Rice and other cereals. The content is kept in the Winnow and it is tossed in the air gently. The heavy grains go up in the air and by the time they return to fell in the Winnow the lighter particles move forward. They can be cleaned with a blow easily. This is also used for collecting the floor dust after sweeping the house. Earlier they were made of Bamboo material. Now they are available in iron, steel, and plastic depending upon their usage.
