I was her boyfriend but she was not my girlfriend

Every generation has its fads and fancies. In the present generation, the young (and even the oldies) would love to have the MacAir, the Iphone, the Ipad, Androids, camera drones and what-nots , (even hellipads, if possible hehehe). When I was in my elementary grade years, the fad for the young girls was the "scrapbook", so called probably because, more often, they were made from scrap (unused pages of notebooks). Our girl classmates were also in on the fad and each girl would meticulously make her "scrapbook" as beautiful as can be. Having finished their "scrapbook", they would exchange with each other to fill out personal date on the "scrapbook" such as name, age, sex (gender), hobbies, likes/dislikes, birthday, favorite food, favorite song, etc. At such a young age for the girls, there's even this blank space for "boyfriend". One girl, innocent as she was, wrote my name on the space for "boyfriend". Because of that, she and myself were constantly teased by our classmates. I was surprised at first because I did not know all about it. All the while, this girl thought that "friend" and "boyfriend" are the same (we were ordinary friends then) so there you are - I was a "boyfriend" to a girl who was not my "girlfriend". LOL!

Well, you were a friend and you were a boy, so it was an easy mistake to make

So she meant you're her boy friend not a boyfriend.

Yes, that's right but at such a young age, she did not know the difference :)
