Tonight is the last night for AWANA. I'm so proud of my kids. They've all finished their books so they will all get awards at the closing ceremony next week.
I might not have been able to be at all the meetings this year due to my broken leg, but I am very happy to have been part of this wonderful organization that teaches children and youth the Word of God in a fun way.
I've been a Sparks leader this year - Sparks is for kids K-2, I was with the Kindergartners. I was amazed to find out these kids can read. They needed little prompting with their verses, and were a total joy to work with this year.
Next week will be the closing ceremony where the kids will get their final awards for this year. Sparks get wings with jewels on them. Each section they learn in their book, earns them a jewel. I have one of my children with all their jewels, and should see the others with all of them by next week.
When they start up next year, they will earn a second wing and start over earning jewels for that one as well.
It will be a fun night this week and next.
Do your kids participate in any youth program with your church?
Thanks for reading.

Yes my children also are in Awana and do very well! They love going which is awesome too. =) Their last week is in a few weeks I think, until next school year. They are not happy that it ends for the summer!

It's great when kids love learning the Word of God and have fun doing it. I was surprised it was done this early but it is what it is.
