~He Wants Me To See A Doctor-Ha!~

So...for those that don't know me well I go to the doctor for 2 reasons...One is when I am in labor-and even then I wait until the last possible minute. The second reason is if I literally feel like I am dying. That's it. I am not stubborn with most things but seeing a doctor is something I am very stubborn about. My husband was rubbing my back the other night and he said oh my gosh now I see why your back has been hurting. I asked why. He said there is a bulge at the bottom of your back near your spine. I felt my lower back and yeah it's there. He is extremely worried and every day is on me asking, did you call a doctor yet? I don't know why he even asks because he already knows the answer. It hurts but I have dealt with natural labor 4 times-I think I will be okay, and I know I can handle the pain... Not running to the doctor anytime soon. Unless he drags me by my hair, that's about the only way. Lol.

A bulge that has appeared in your spine and you're not going to the doctor That's two things and both begin with s...stupid and stubborn...no offence meant It's actually beyond stupid it is insane...GO TO THE DOCTOR. Hey I could do a challenge on this...words for people that don't go to the doctor with a bulge in their spine challenge....

Well it's not on my spine per se, it's just near it. I think it's just a knot or something. It's okay lots of people think I'm stupid when it comes to not going to the doctor. And don't you dare do that challenge!

@Mike197602 I hate it when your right! I do have to think about it a little bit first though because I really, really hate doctors. But I know I should go because I want to be here for my children.

@LovingMyBabies go to the doctor then In all seriousness you really should get that checked out. I hate the doctors too and haven't seen one for over ten years but even I would go if I had a bulge anywhere. It may be nothing but if it is causing pain it may be something...think of your kids. If it was something nasty and you don't get it treated the impact on your family could be terrible.

From someone who has very serious spine injuries @LovingMyBabies , had I taken care of the original problem back in 2007 (chiropractor or compression therapist), I wouldn't be almost paralyzed today. The L4 and L5 (lower lumbar) were out of place. I figured considering all the outside work I do here at my property would straighten it out. I now have 6 mm left between the spinal cord and the spine itself. All the vertebrae have collapsed upon each other and I have no sponges left between any of the vertebrae. The ones in my lower Thorasic region are 1" from the front of my body and the Cervical are all broken like chalk. Please don't wait.

@nanette64 I am so sorry for all you have went through. =( From what you said here I think I am going to have to get it checked because I definitely don't want to become paralyzed. I have 4 children who I have to take care of each day.

@LovingMyBabies Better to be safe now then very sorry later. Since you have to do a lot of movement: bending, stooping, reaching, lifting; with your kids, it's a good idea.

You really need to go see a doctor as you have those children and you don't want them to be without a momma because of her being stubborn. It could be something serious and you need to find out.

@Marcyaz I definitely don't want them to be without me, I know they need me. If it gets worse I told him I would get it checked. Right now it doesn't feel horrible, if it stops me from doing my daily things I will be getting checked.

If you're not going to go to the doctor, at least see a chiropractor. It could be something as simple as a disc that's slightly out of place and a knotted muscle. They can do an x-ray and make sure it's not something more serious that requires medical attention, anyway. You know there are back problems that can worsen over time and lead to things like paralysis if not treated properly, right? Not trying to get all worst-case scenario on you, but you owe it to your kids to be the healthiest mom you can be.

@Yukimori Yeah I am going to have it checked just in case. I don't want it to lead to further problems down the road.

@Mike197602 I get temporary relief from my fibromyalgia symptoms with chiropractic treatments. It got to be a bit too expensive to continue, unfortunately... I could get a day or two of relief from each session.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX Off topic but every time I see your name I get hungry-I can't figure out why... Back on topic, I cannot stand doctors or hospitals! I end up feeling worse after I go than before I went. If it limits what I do then I will go.

If it could possibly be a tumor or growth of some kind the doctor can evaluate it and remove it. If you let it go it could become very serious.

I don't like visiting the doctor either unless I am really sick. As far as being in labor I have no clue, never been pregnant but you're a trooper for having 4 kids naturally! I hope your back feels better. I am worried about the bulge too! Is it swollen or anything?? OR bruised?

@Infatuatedbby Yeah I'm not a fan of doctors at all! Thank you, it was tough but I proved to myself i could do it. =) Thanks I hope so too. Its swollen but not bruised. It feels really hard and hurts when its touched or when I do a lot during the day.

A lot of people try to stay away from the doctors office. Back in the day they were their own medical team. We should go if something just down't feel right. I hope all goes well. If you feel you need to go then you should really go.

@Teep11 Yeah I am one of those people! I can't stand doctors, I am terrified of what they might do or say. If it stops me from doing what I usually do then I am going to go but until then I doubt it.

@Leapea2417 Thanks, I hope not either. Half the reason I am scared is because I can't handle bad news, not health wise.

I never liked doctors either, but there are some reasons to get checked out. I ended up having a spinal fusion because I had problems with my back and ignored it for too long. It wouldn't hurt to at least have it looked at, that way if there is a problem, you will know how not to irritate it. Good luck

@cintol I am going to get it checked, because there are things that can happen if it's something serious and I wait too long. Your the second person that has had problems from waiting too long that I just found out about. Thank you.

I'm a doctor procrastinator too. This reminds me that I must break down and go to the doctor to get my sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol checked. Eventually our problem gets so bad we have to go to the hospital or doctors. Or in my case the dentist. Thank goodness the docs are there when we need them. If that back continues to hurt and that knot gets bigger, be brave and GET TO THAT DOCTOR. Something IS TELLING ME YOU'LL BE OKAY.

Wonder what that is, you really should get it checked out, if something minor, it can be controlled before it could get out of hand. I have to admit I have been the same way about things. If I would have went sooner, i would have saved money and surgeries.
