Expectations

n every relationship we expect something. Sometimes more sometimes less . Is expecting from someone is right?? As sometimes we get hurt as we expect and it doesn't happen what we expected and we hurt ourselves. We might hurt others too as others too expect from us . But I fail to understand why do we expect when we know sometimes we might will get hurt. How do we measure how much to expect so we don't get hurt. It's difficult to understand .We trust we expect and sometimes we are right and very happy ,sometimes we get so much. We should stop expecting???

I don't think its right or wrong. I think it does lead to hurt because we are often disappointed. We should only put our faith in God like that because He will never disappoint us. =)

@LovingMyBabies I don't want to offend your faith in god but I disagree with the fact that god never disappoints a man....

@imravi I'm not interested in a debate so we can agree to disagree. =)

One can't not expect from friends and loved ones. It's just that people's expectations vary in degrees and sometimes they may clash with our personal belief systems. It's just a matter of understanding the other person and accordingly setting expectations as not everyone is capable of fulfilling all of our expectations. It's just a matter of adjusting perspective. Expectations are important because they bring commitment, a sense of belonging and love into relationships. But then again, they need to be reasonable.

It's not practical not to expect anything. This automatically comes it just we need to control our expectations

If someone makes a relationship, there must be something he/she expects from the relationship.

Well If it's about my view point, I have stopped expecting from people because I don't think that humanity exists everywhere. This helps in not getting hurt. But you can't live like this because you have to expect from some people because it's life.Me too expect sometime but I try my best not to do it.

In today's world where people are getting more self centered, more selfish, profit driven and success driven, we should have realistic expectations and should be ready to accept that expectations may fail.
