I am sorry, I have been unable to reply to all the comment and visit many discussions today.
The day has started like a normal quiet day, when my husband suddenly started to shake and to feel very bad.
Our doctor office is only five minutes walk from our home, so we went there and the nurse did immediately a blood and urine analysis.
The poor hubby has a serious kidney infection and tomorrow we have to go to the hospital for ultrasounds test. For the moment he is taking antibiotics.
As he has no food restrictions, I have made for him a sweet bread with poppy seeds and lemon curd so he can have something with his afternoon tea.
Let's hope to have reassuring news tomorrow.
If you do not see me around, you know the reason.

@LadyDuck A good wife has a role to play and that is to refer the matter to a doctor and do other things that are within her capacity. And you are doing just that. Hope nothing is serious.

Hope all goes well for your hubby and that the antibiotics are all he needs and the ultrasound doesn't show anything that needs further attention

Tea is diuretic. He should avoid it when he's having kidney infections. I do have the same problem and my doctor has advised me to stay away from diuretic beverages like tea and coffee.

@toniganzon I never knew that tea is a diuretic. I drink both hot and cold tea all day long.

@AbbyGreenhill It's better, it seems it's a malformation he has since he was born, but aging it's better to check.

@LadyDuck Good to hear I was always nervous and scared when my kids or hubby were sick. I rarely get sick myself.

We drink cranberry juice every morning, the doctor needs to see where the problem exactly is, this is why he goes for the ultrasounds tomorrow morning. Now he is taking antibiotics to fight the infection, he has a very high temperature, we need to make it drop.

@Juliaacv The doctor told me to give him only warm drinks and nothing that contain gas, this is needed to be sure not to have a false lecture of the ultrasounds. The temperature is caused by the infection, he is taking three different pills to fight the infection and lower the temperature.

@LadyDuck I had a kidney infection once, only paracetamol would keep the shakes at bay for 2 days. I was stupid, didn't see the Doc until the 3rd day, when my urine turned the colour of Guinness ugh! I got it after getting chilled at a barbecue, possibly combined with a touch of something from a poorly-cooked bit of food... Never again!

@LadyDuck When my hubby and my Mom had issues we had to call an ambulance. My Mom ended up having to go home right after she got to the hospital which was great but it was after 9 and I am getting so that I can't drive safely very far at that time of night. I'm too tired and rummy headed.
