Diet and exercise play an equal role in weight loss, especially if you're looking to tone your body along with losing excess fat. Whether you can lose 20 kgs in six months or a year depends entirely on the kind of routine you follow with complete dedication and observe strict discipline. Weight loss is 80% diet and only 20% exercise if you compare, but you cannot be doing just one of these two things. First of all, any type of deep fried, oily, unnatural food is a strict no-no, which automatically rules out junk, outside food. Don't skip your breakfast, eat wholesome lunch, and cut down the portion of the last meal of your day, slowly and steadily. Avoid rice in large quantity, but don't completely stop the carbohydrate intake. Instead of juices, consume whole fruits and drink PLENTY of water throughout the day. Take up at least one form of physical exercise - running, brisk walking, swimming, cycling for minimum 30 minutes everyday.

Greetings, I'm not so sure that you can lose 20 kg in just 6 months. I think it could take about a year to achieve such feat with healthy dieting and exercise. Trying to lose weight fast is not a good solution in the long run. What's important is to train our discipline to exercise and healthy living. This is the best way I know we can become slimmer, better, healthier - in the long run. Just don't rush it friend, and you will see what it does to your whole being. Kudos~!

Depends on how much you are over weight. 3 Years ago I was 27 kilograms heavier (about 60 pounds). In 4 Months I lost 90% of the weight and by 6 Months I lost the rest.
Everyone asked me "How did you and your wife lose so many pounds". First, we do not exercise, so no exercise and we do not believe in diet pills. What we did was counted calories by using the Myfitnesspal app on our phone.

I never needed to lose more that 2 or 3 Kg., not a big deal. I know that doctors say that to be safe and not to get the kilos back soon, people should not lose more than 2 to 3 kg per month, so I believe that in about 7 to 8 months this could be possible.

I will advise you not to do so. It is good to loose only 7 to 8 kg in 3 to 4 months. Eating less food leads to deficiencies. You should exercise hard.
