I think we all have done it, but with the Internet, it is much easier to look up song lyrics now than without the internet (back in the 80's you bought the album and some of them had the lyrics).
Yes, I admit back in the day I was wrong with the group Creedence Clearwater Revival and song Bad Moon Rising. They have a lyric "There’s a bad moon on the rise.” and I thought they said "Theres a bathroom on the right".
Now with the internet, if I do not understand the lyric when I hear it, I will usually look it up. Well last night I was singing the song "Stressed Out" by 21 Pilots and my wife started to laugh at me about an incorrect lyric that I sang.
The right lyric is "Wish we could turn back time, to the good ol' days," and I sang "Wish we could turn back time, to the good DOPE days,".
Oops. So what lyrics have misheard? I know I can't be the only one out there that have incorrectly thought a song had different lyrics.

one of my favorites-beings as i live near massachusetts-was everyone up here in the RI/MA area thinking eric clapton's "forever man" was "fall river man"..and they wouldn't believe otherwise.![](/Content/images/emotes/rofl.gif)

Brother Jeff- You had me laughing very nicely here. A common occurrence, these misheard lyrics. Regards, Gus Kilthau

I especially like the CCR one! I can't think of any at the moment but hopefully others will give us a laugh in their comments. We did hear some funny English lyrics in a little restaurant in backblocks Thailand but I can't remember them now.
