Birthing a property

Greedy me. I want that property deed now. Piggy me.
We are wrestling with the mortgage company. We fax them and they say they did not get the fax. We had gone through some effort to get that fax done. I have the fax number. The mortgage company refuses to hand over the pay off amount unless they get signatures saying we want it- and they do not get our faxes.
We will go to the bank that has our money in it and have them write out a bank check. We are sending off that check and with what the mortgage company will take next month, we should be done. PLUS the hundred that they need for processing the papers will be in our check.
I want this business done with by the middle of sweet May. Its hilly and its sage brush weedy but its time for the hubster and me to truly own the joint rather than the mortgage company having their sticky fingers on it.

I guess I missed something, if you paid off the mortgage why won't they give you the deed?

We owe about a thousand. They want us to send for a pay off paper before we finalize things. They just can't seem to get the fax that we have sent so we are sending a check without the pay off paper.

Yes I hate the fact that these days our mortgages can be sold off and we deal with companies we never contracted with. Congratulations by the way, it is a great feeling.

I can understand wanting it to be paid off, wish we were that close to paying ours off. Right now we are trying to get a hold of the people that didn't get my parents name off our title when we refinanced. I've called twice and was told that the title company was going to call me (a different company than who did our refinance paperwork). I'm going to have to call again since they haven't called yet. Maybe I can get the number this time and just call myself instead of having them call me.

@sallypup The guy that is supposed to take care of this issue is supposed to call today or tomorrow. If he doesn't I am supposed to call the lady I've been dealing with. So far there has been no call, but I will give him until tomorrow afternoon before I call again.

@fawkes62 That kind of waiting drives me bonkers. I try not to let it get to me and yet I am on edge. Bad enough over here cause I am waiting to see when the mortgage company gets the check and what they will do with it. I wish you luck as you grind through.
