Do You Still Go On Dates?

It's Friday and I had no work, so I asked my mother if we will go somewhere. She said we can go to Baguio City and I agreed. We had a plan before that I am going to treat her at a restaurant we haven't gone before. I think that's a new one because I had never seen it before when I stayed there. So, we left the house at nine in the morning and arrived there at around 11:30. We just had our snack first and did some shopping and we had our lunch at past 2 in the afternoon. Our food: chopsuey, rice and a plate of buttered chicken (the waitress said this is their bestseller). They had a generous serving that we were not able to finish everything. My mother thanked me for the treat. Do you still go out on dates with your parents or kids? Where do you usually go?

@ridingbet awww, yes Ate. It is and I just couldn't post and leave it here without responding. Even when I comment, I still need to come back. That's why I just leave something if I know I can get back to it soon and not letting others wait. I don't know, but I just feel it isn't right to leave something just like that. We will have more work these coming days so I will just enjoy it here while I can.

Oh, okay! I was also busy the past days and it's good I had nothing to do yesterday so we had a date. I agreed when she said we have to go to Baguio because I might be busy again these coming days, and I might be out of myLot again.

@brokenbee That is sad! I don't understand why he would not look forward to doing things with his wife and daughter.

@1hopefulman hmmmm he often complains of arthritis and prefers to stay at home. I am not sure if that's just his alibi.

@LdeL0318 hmmmm yes! We have to do it more often while there's still time and they are still strong. My aunt who had a vacation here the past few months said she no longer enjoys going out because of her situation.

I wish, @brokenbee ! Well, if some day, some how, some where, you say yes for us to go on date (we would be odd couple . . young and old), I would treat you to where you want. If you don't, I might ask your mom to be my date instead. Unless, of course, you don't agree as you might think she would not be safe in my company basing on the funny stories I am writing here.

My friends take me out a lot since I became a widow. I pay back inviting then to dinner at home as I like to cook.

We go on dates with my kids, but the sad part, it is me who pays everything. Anyway, my daughter soon to graduate in college and she has work already. She promised she will treat me for dinner soon.

Oh yes, most of the time it's the parents who treat their kids.

With my parents, yes, though we rarely do it since we do not see each other often. Usually, we eat when they visit me here and it's my treat. When I visit them, they treat me. Often, we eat at Chinese restaurants.
