The announced rain did not come. The temperature is warm, but not hot, the sky partly cloudy.
This looked like a perfect day to clean the pond.
From start to finish it took three hours, but now I am happy of the result.
The pond is clean and the fountain in the middle is adding a nice movement to the water.
Now I am tired, but I am happily contemplating my work from the porch, while working on my tablet.
Do you also feel satisfied when you have accomplished an annoying, but necessary task?

yes, I do feel satisfied and I'd feel more satisfied if I'd done any of the tasks I had planned for the day. I did get one nasty job done and better results that I thought I would.
Lovely set up on your pond deck and garden, Anna. I would have missed this post for a few more days except I happened upon it via Alfred's page.

@LadyDuck I try to save any page where I think it might get deleted before I can get to the older ones, but I can't find the one I saved recently. Oh, just remembered. I think I saved it on my computer not evernote as I used to do.

@LadyDuck I know it is, I had a pond a good few years ago, and didn't like doing it myself but you have to at some point.

@kevin1877uk After the winter there are leaves and everything inside a pond, it must be cleaned.

Yes, I feel good when all the dishes are clean and when my laundry basket is empty. I am lazy when it comes to cleaning my room though so I hire cleaners.

@LadyDuck You are so going to hate my kitchen, I use a lot of gadgets. Imagine how messy it is after I cooked something.

@LadyDuck No, I don't like to see the cloudy water either, but if you maintain the filter then the rest is usually as a result of the temperature of the water. Ours is cloudy now, but I can see how its gotten better over the past week, but it still has a long way to go.

always makes me feel good to get such accomplished. i'm gonna be honest, i'm purty jealous such a task only takes ya 'bout 3 hours - 'tis'n all day venture here. perhaps due to the size 'n the fact there's trees all 'round the one here.

@crazyhorseladycx Your husband looks a lot like mine, he does not lift a finger to help to clean. The pine needles and cones of the neighbors fall in our pond. It does not matter, I love their pine tree.

There is a tree just behind the pond, but I had covered the pond with a net to collect the leaves. Of course some were inside, I had to empty the pond with a water pump, I vacuumed the bottom cleaned with high pressure water and then filled it with clean water.

@LadyDuck i've a huge pine not too far from the waterfall here. 'n then there's the apple, bradford pear 'n maple trees who love to dump their leaves (sometimes fruit's well, e'en the grapes make their way to't) so there's lots to clean. the rocks'n the falls'll get pine needles/cones wedged'n 'em, etc. 'tis a labor'f love, when i've been able to tend't. the hubs, bless his heart (sarcasm), won't lift a finger to clean't.

Gorgeous pond @LadyDuck . The work was well worth it. I hate annoying tasks but I figure, since I'm the only one to do it, "Gitter Done!"
