How MyLot helped me make $100.65 yesterday!

Yes, this is one of those posts I used to do to make fun of Bubblews--and it would have read $100.02. But I actually did make $100 last night playing bass for a band for which I usually play mandolin. We sounded really tight as a trio. Our usual bass player couldn't make it, so we nixed the mandolin and I took over on bass.
Practice really does make perfect. For awhile, I was almost bored with the sound of this band. But the more we practice, the tighter we sound, and the tighter we sound, the more fun it is to play with them. Do you have something you do that requires practice practice practice?
Anyway, I have to help a friend move today, and he's an organization freak, so it should be an interesting next few hours. I wanted to check in before I soar.

Before you soar or get sore? I think the latter. Good luck today. Don't forget you're human and try to lift too much.

@TheHorse would love to have you post a video of the band. Don't lift anything that's bigger than an elephant

@RasmaSandra I made it out alive! Think I need a little Scotch and a little aspirin.

I have no organizational ideas, I like to leave things to the wind. I quit piano lessons because I hate to practice. I was 8. Never practiced anything since then,,,

@PainsOnSlate My hunch is that this woman worked mostly with older (adult) students. She wanted me to practice five hours a day. I wanted to make friends in my new town (Chicago) and play sports after school.

@TheHorse You have to wonder why someone who can't work with kids would be a piano teacher...My teacher was ok, I just was not interested and I didn't want to practice.

@TheHorse I also like music! But I don´t play in any band. I´m like a soloist musician.

Congratulations on all the practice and having it pay off in this way for you. Organization is a good thing. I am one too.

Reminds me of when we had our garage band - we SHOULD have practiced more, but the guys wouldn't listen. Sure enough when it came time to do our "gig", it was horrendous (in my opinion). The more you practice, the more prepared you are, and the more fun you have because it naturally comes together at that point.

I have to practice how to deal with different kinds of people. I have to practice patience all the time.

@carebear29 Didn't Bubblews feel weird to you? Do you remember those creepy people who treated the corrupt (and bad writer) CEO like some kind of hero?

@TheHorse I just transfer it into my bank account when it is more than $100. I have had a couple writing assignments so I am making more money with that than I do here.

@TheHorse I've always used the top bass stings but I guess just getting those runs down pat is all that really counts. I don't know that many never played in a band just for fun. Getting a rhymmm going is all that really matters. My brain doesn't always respond to repetitive demands but like you said practice practice.

Isn't performing music live a wonderful thing?
Yes, I play the drums, but have not played in front of people for a long time. Even when I did, it was never for money.. It was always for a school function - a talent show, a school coffee house, etc. Nonetheless, it was still a nice feeling to play in front of people!

@mawdest Im actually almost past the point when I'm nervous, even when I have to sing. Oh, I should provide a link to one of my songs. Sorry to "self-promote."

@BenRyanLee Ah, glad you found them interesting. I wrote my best stuff early, and got fluffy later on Bubblews once I realized that they were "naughty" types.

Where did we meet before? We don't usually make that much. We were promised $300 and played as a trio because one of our members couldn't make it. It still sounded really good. We were tight with only three people playing. Some people missed the mandolin though.
