For months now I have looking for jobs and ways to make money online at home. The only problem is I have found lots that you are an independent contractor jobs, and jobs that actually employ you but you need at least a year with experience. How am I suppose to get experience if nobody wants to hire me so I can receive that experience! I live in a very rural country area so most jobs are factory, and other than a Dollar General and Gas Station job here in town, everything else is at least 30-45 minutes away! I have three children, all in Head Start, the youngest will start Kindergarten in August, so I have to stay around town to be able to drop them off in the mornings and pick them up in the afternoons. If I got an at home job I would try to get hours that work with our schedules but if not I have a friend blocks away that could babysit. I guess what I need input on is would it be ideal to keep looking or try an independent contractor job, or maybe freelance writing for a blog? I'm not sure about what I am suppose to do with the money such as tax season, do I include the money or do I have to pay my own taxes or if it isn't over a certain amount do I just keep it hidden. And, Avon, Etsy, and things like ItWorks I cannot sell around here as EVERYONE already does it!

It's no problem to be an independent contractor. You have to file taxes as self employed and pay your self employment tax (which your employer pays half if you work for someone else). If you worked for Avon, etc., you would be an independent contractor.
There are a lot of opportunities online and if you keep looking you will find something that suits you.

Thats frustrating. Seems like there are few to none actual work from home jobs. I personally do paid survey sites (which can be redundant but yiu can make some money on them if you try)and also I am just learning about online paid writing sites. The one i have tried, called Zemandi, you just write articles on a variety of topics of their clients choosing. I have only made about $30 there in the last month though. Best of luck to you though!

How far out in the country do you live? I mean are you able to get high-speed Broadband or DSL or are you stuck with dial-up and satellite Internet (like HughesNet or ViaSat)? If you can get high-speed Broadband or DSL and are up to talking on the phone all day, there are plenty of legitimate work at home call center jobs available.

I'm in town, I just mean we are a very little country town. I have Cable and Internet and it's pretty fast too! I'm up for talking on the phone all day, no problem. It's just that all the legitimate work from home jobs you have to have experience and I have none.

@MooreLoven13, I understand. But, I also work for a legitimate work@home employer that does hire people who have little or no experience.
