Well I was on Friday, but it's took me two days to recover
The caravan was nice, but a bit too compact for 4 adults, and my bed was like a trampoline, so it was tiring but fun.
We also packed quite a bit into the few days, including a seal sanctuary and aquarium. Skegness itself is nice, although I don't think I've ever seen as many static caravans in my life, there were thousands everywhere you looked, with amusement arcades and chip shops in between
I'll share more in the next few days, but my photo shows the coast line looking back from their short pier, as you can see the sun shone although the wind from the sea was decidedly nippy (freezing).

I think on most of them you can stay for 10 months of the year without paying council tax, but I guess it also depends on the campsite rules. We were quite shocked by how expensive they are, some are the same price as a house where I live (although not in a nice area )

@Dragonairy1 I hadn't thought about that. I have no idea how expensive they would be but some looked very 'settled' with pot plants and garden ornaments, etc.

It's still there, with a big water park, you can pay seventeen pounds to visit for the day (we didn't), and yes it was snug

@Dragonairy1 Oh it's still there? £17 seems a bit steep, I don't blame you for not paying it.

I stayed at the Butlins camp there a few times - quite enjoyed it though I was getting too old for such family holidays with my parents by then

That must have been a couple of years ago then
I'd never been, or really thought of going until my mum said but it's a lovely place.

I had thawed out, but this week we've had snow and hail
I thought you would love the aquarium and sanctuary, they send the baby seals back to the sea when they're well again.
Big hugs

It's quite small so I don't think it will be well known outside the uk, the biggest seaside town is Blackpool. Skegness is similar but on a smaller scale.

I hear so much about the cold North Sea. I am a great fan of the cold North Atlantic, and I don't believe I have ever been to the beach when the sea was anything but frigid. I mean, isn't that why we go to the sea? Because it's big and cold and we're small but brave?

Haha that's one way of looking at it, and I do love the sea. Ours is especially nice during the one week a year when we get hot weather

I would love to photos of the coast. A huge caravan park is not my idea of a good time but then I like sleeping in a tent and most others thinks that is not fun too....
