That Darn Dog

One of our dogs attempted to eat me for dinner! After my mom and I had finished dinner, my mom accidentally dropped some orange peel on the floor. We thought we got all of it but a few minutes later I saw our dog Daisy had gotten a hold of a piece. I went over to get it from her and she dropped it. I didn't suspect anything. Little did I know I was being set up. As soon as I reached for the orange peel, she bit! She got me right on my wrist first – hard enough to break the skin. Then, she got further up my arm. That one bruised immediately. I had forgotten how food aggressive she is and paid for it in flesh. Now I'm sitting here with my arm aching and some large bruises

That is not good and really not sure how you fix that. Does not mean she is a bad dog,just needs to be taught another way.I know the one we got from the pound loves food a little to much, but since has calmed down. Hopefully that is all she needs is just to know she is well provided for. Sometimes they get stuck in survival mode.

@Lolaze I hear you and would just stay away from her if that is the case. Your mom is going to have to recognize the problem in order for the dog to stop.

I hope she has had rabies shots!! I would not keep one that bites me. mine plays like she might but never has really. it is just play

She's good on her rabies shot. I'd never get rid of her because she'd be destroyed and she is a sweet little thing 99% of the time. I sure am mad at her right now though.

She knows what she did. I went out in the family room earlier and was pointing to one of the bites and telling her she was bad. She came over and licked where she'd bit me. I can't stay mad at her, she's too cute.

I dumped hydrogen peroxide on it right away. Thankfully, the bite that broke the skin isn't too deep.

@Lolaze she may be jealous of you . my dog is the opposite jealous of my daughter showing attention to others. she don't care who I pay attention to. lol

We never take risks with dogs when it comes to picking up food that has been dropped by them. Preiti is gentle and kind and even with her I am careful. Sorry to hear about this. Hope you will rush to the doctor and take those injections.

That is aggressive! Did you scold her? I guess you were hurting too much.
