isn't it ironic how growing up we always wanted take out or fast food as often as possible , meatloaf cooked by mom with mashed potatoes and gravy and carrots, and we would grumble and complain aww this again? why can't we have macdonalds or a pizza from greco? blah blah blah
now as an adult seeing how much work and love goes into preparing a meal for your family night after night i often cringe at some of my childhood moments. now a good old fashioned homecooked meal by mom or dad is a treat i'll take over fastfood or take out any day! give me some of my dad's yellow potatoe hash he'd make or some of my mom's home made baked beans with some home made brown bread oh yes sir! lol
sorry just a thought i was having tonight thought i'd share and see if anyone else felt the same way.

Honestly, as a kid I never really liked going to fast food places much. I think its because we used to eat out about 2 or 3 times a week, if not more. I much prefered a home cooked meal by my mom, but when she started working late hours, the home cooked meals became less often, because daddy doesn't cook much, and back then, I couldn't be bothered to cook even though I knew how. So it was either microwaved meals, sandwiches or take out.
Now, I prefer to cook at home, but because my depression and my migraines some days has me not wanting to even move, so if I can afford it, I usually buy pre-made meals at iga, or just order out. I don't like to, cause its expensive and can make like 4 meals for the price of one, (especially if our brother is over lol), but you know what its like sis, how bad they get and make us want to just sleep.
But my main thing I still love to do, which can last me a few days, is make a big pot of plain rice, and just have a bowl with abit of butter and creamy coleslaw dressing.

my parents arent the greatest cooks haha but they always prefer homecooked meals since we were young. my sister and brothers are always in charge in the kitchen and theyre the best among others i can say. when im on my own, i always go for take outs cause i cant cook.
