In Holland (where I live) you are allowed to drink from the age of 18, but the government want to make it 21. I think it should be 18. I was wondering what you guys were thinking.

I think that drinking depends more on how you drink than the age. But legal age to drink here in pubs and restaurants is 21.

@marlina That's true and if it is illegal the younger kids will obviously find a way to get alchol...

@Senne0S Sure. That´s why I think that it is better if children are taught to drink a reasonable amount.

Welcome to MyLot! I am not sure what I think about the drinking age. Here, in the US it is 21 years old. However, I know in many plaCES IN Europe it is (like you said) 18. Not sure how I feel about it. I know when I was 18 it was a treat when I went to Sweden and got to legally drink. Lol.

Good 'ol America, where you have to be 21 to drink or gamble but you only have to be 18 to join up and die for your country!

I think 18 is the perfect age, because that's when you become an adult (In Holland, I don't know if it's also like that in other countries.)

It's 18 here and I don't want to change it. Even if the government does, minors still drink anyway.

I believe that the legal drinking age here is 19.

I think 21 is good enough though in reality, more and more drink before they reach that age. If the 21 is the legal age, they can go to bars and all while those who are not yet 21 will just have to go somewhere private with their friends if they want to drink.

Here in Canada, it's 19 in most provinces, but it's 18 here in the province I live in. I think it's fine the way it is. 18-19 seems fine.

It's 21 here, but I had some when I was 8 when I was in Austria visiting. I didn't like it so the next time was 18. :P

I think 21 is fine, lots of 18 years old are still very immature and will consume it irresponsively causing them to intoxicate themselves or crash while driving drunk
