Well, it is 9:06pm and I am sitting here waiting for the severe thunderstorm to hit. I have my scanner on and they are talking about 70 mph winds and possible tornadoes. It shoud hit within the next 10 minutes or so. I have the storm shelter ready, my purse, phone, best jewelry and thumb drive with all my pictures on them ready to go! Well, just as I say this, the wind is here! Blowing like crazy! I'm goint to get off if here now, so I can pace the floors!

I hope you will stay safe! High winds and tornadoes are scary.

Thank you, @LovingMyBabies We did stay safe, the storm was not as bad as they thought it would be, at least not around here. The threat of tornadoes scares the "rain" right out of me! However, we didn't even have to go to the shelter last night, thank God!

@sgbrown Good I am so glad it wasn't as bad as they thought. Tornadoes scare me too-I am terrified of them. Glad everything was okay. =)

@LovingMyBabies Thank you, Jennifer! I guess you get tornadoes too, there in Jacksonville. They can be very dangerous! You take care too! :)

I know you have come through okay so that is really good news. It must be really scary. Where is your storm shelter? I might have asked this before but not for ages I think. Forgive me if I have.

@sgbrown So you go down into it? I think that's a great idea but I have always wondered what would happen if something big landed on the door and you couldn't get out. I guess friends or relatives would come looking for you if you didn't get in contact after a big storm.

@JudyEv Yes, it's underground. I just don't feel safe above ground. We have our cell phones, but the kids would always call to be sure we are ok.

Hi, @JudyEv I don't remember you asking before, but it would be ok if you have! It is a little scary, at least for me, hubby isn't afraid of the storms. Our storm shelter is at the end of our back porch and up against the house. This is the only picture I have that shows it. Just behind it is the back edge of the house.

Thank you, @jstory07 The storm was not nearly as bad as we had anticipated. I think it was worse south of us. We made it through just fine!

Thank you, @Juliaacv We did make it through just fine. The storm wasn't as bad as predicted. We didn't even have to go to the storm shelter. Thank goodness, as I am a little bit claustrophobic!
