.
Last January , a client of mine had a skirt made out of this newspaper print material.. It's a quilting material but I loved it so much that I asked my husband to order about three meters for me online because it's not available in the shop near us ..
At first I was gonna make a jacket out of it but I decided to make a dress instead. I met up with a friend for lunch today and I wore it. She loved it too
.
I have some material left so I am thinking of making a necktie for my husband and tote bag for me ..
One really good thing about making your own outfits is that you can be sure that no one else out there has the same outfit as yours. And it fits comfortably ..
Have you ever made your own outfit? ..

Wow that's awesome. Very beautiful.
The left over material - your husband can match with you. The dress would look lovely with a pop of color to your purse like a red or something!

Thank you kindly ! .. Yes I agree! Coloured shoes and purse would look great .. I have a fuschia and orange shoes that would look great too with this dress but it does not look okay with the style of this dress..

Why can't you? .. If you want to learn it, I think you should ..It is one of the most important thing we need to learn .. so at least we can do some simple sewing even just to put hems up..

with sewing, one really has to do a lot of practice .. I became interested in sewing when I was about ten years old..

I guess if we are not passionate about something, we won't be good at it ..

@epiffanie that's very true! Anyone can fake something for a little while but lack of passion will eventually bring the proof out!

@SIMPLYD .. Yes, I studied at Slim's Fashion and Arts school in Manila. I have a diploma in Fashion Designing and Dressmaking .. then I taught myself tailoring ..
I worked for Vida Doria, Rusty Lopes and a few other well known designers in Manila in the late 70s before I came to Australia..
You could learn to sew if you really want to .. it is good t be able to do your own alterations at home ..like putting up hems or other small clothing alterations ..
