Would you ever travel alone?

My 23 year old cousin just returned from a week or so long trip frpm Japan. From the US here, its quite a long haul. I was following her photos on Facebook and saw some post about her traveling alone. She didnt go with anyone nor did she meet anyone. Not sure how I feel about that.
I have only ever traveled TO a destination alone - such as meeting my sister in Sweden or my friends across the US. I hace yet to take a vacation where I am by myself. I feel I personally would get lonely.
Have you ever done this? What do you think?

Yes i did. I went to Bangkok with my mother in law and her cousins but we separated ways after 5 days. Then I traveled alone to Cambodia and back to Bangkok. For 6 months I was alone and of course I met new friends there that I had to leave because it was time to go back home to my country.

I always travel alone. When my mom was alive we traveled together. I enjoy traveling by myself. If I see something I want to investigate I go investigate it. You can't do that when there are other people to consider.

I have never traveled alone on a vacation. I have traveled alone to assignments and for business but I would if I had no one to go with. I a pretty self-sufficient.

@maezee Sure if my husband couldn't go or one of my friends or my daughter I would go alone.

I have always traveled alone for the most part to places like Paris, London, Amsterdam, New York and Stockholm. Didn't bother me in the least.

@maezee I never feel lonely. That's something I'm pretty impervious to.

I have traveled alone before. When I was studying in Australia, I traveled to Taiwan to visit my boyfriend (now husband) who was studying there too. I also traveled back to my home country alone. I am fine with traveling alone, and I remember I had good chat with the passengers sitting next to me too.
I don't think I'll ever do that, as I will most probably travel with my husband or children now.

Nope I've never traveled alone either and don't think I would want too. Hope she had fun and she didn't get bored, especially being some place where she knows nobody.

Am afraid to travel alone, and it is so nice if you have someone to share that new adventures with.

Travelling alone can get lonely but it`s lovely, you dont ask anyone what to do or where to go,you do what you like when you want to.I used to love getting lost in a strange city back streets and finding my way around. It shows you your strengths and patience.
I love travelling alone, after working so hard a full year, my 4 weeks are my time to do what i want when i want to,come and go as i please, take public transport with locals, eat local exotic foods, there is nothing like it but its not for everyone.

If it is only for a few days I think I would like it. But if it was for longer than that, I might feel lonely.

I have never traveled alone over long distances. I would like to. But I would prefer someone to be with me or else I would feel lonely.

I think it's great that your cousin can take that trip alone. I wish I had done more of that when I was that age. I think I would feel safer being lost with a friend or family member, because I'd probably get lost. lol. But there are some pros to going alone. You don't have to wait for anyone, or try to agree on where to go or where to eat. It's easier to plan days. :)
