Top 10 Favorite Reggae Songs #10 - "Try Jah Love"

After doing Top 10 series' on Bad Brains, The Cure, and Siouxsie and the Banshees, and about to wrap up my New Order series, I thought I'd get away from alternative rock and get down with some groovy reggae. (There will not be any Bob Marley songs in this series, as I want to focus on non-Marley acts.) I might as well start with the band/song that started it all for me.
When I was young, I loved sketch comedy shows. They were funny, and they had great musical guests.
One of my favorites was SCTV. One night in 1982, the musical guest was Jamaican reggae band Third World, who performed "Try Jah Love," which was co-written by Stevie Wonder. I had no idea what reggae was at that point in my life, but I was hooked.
"Try Jah Love" is more pop-reggae than the roots-reggae that I've grown to love, but you have to start somewhere, and this was my jumping-in point.

They are a good band. I have a classic by them later on, pure roots, before they started adding other elements to their sound. S

Really? I figured it would be nothing but Jimmy Buffet type of stuff. Then it made sense. Laid back stoner music, which reggae
fits to a T.

Steel Pulse and Aswad are from England. Maybe one of those.
