I've Been Denied Membership at Blogjob

All the talk I have heard on here made me curious about what Blogjob is all about. This morning I applied for membership and I thought was accepted since I was sent a link to verify my membership. It came as a bit of a surprise to see that I had received an email this evening saying my membership had been denied. I am a little shocked since no one has ever denied me before but oh well, maybe I am not up to their exacting standards!! lol It gave absolutely no explanation of why I was denied. Of course, when I went to check the site was in maintenance mode which is seems to be in mostly every time I check on the site. It reminds me of a site that rhymes with Fubblews!! I had no intentions of doing anything there anyway so it is no loss to me but I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I was also denied a membership at Blogjob a while back. Apparently, I do not meet their stellar standards. No matter that I have been paid for writing. They did invite me to apply again, but it seems a little tainted now.

Have you tried article document? They are quite nice to work for, pay on time and you can get journalist assignments once you get a few articles under your belt.

@BelleStarr I have hundreds of articles under my belt. What is article document? Never heard of them.

@akalinus Take a look, I write for them and I enjoy it. They have titles you can choose or you can make your own and after you reach a certain level you are eligible for assignments with clients. I just got a paypal payment from them for an assignment I did in March.

It seemed that it would take quite a lot to earn over there so I am not sure it is even as good as swagbucks. I think we are better off here.

I agree with you, it does sound like a warning sign that it is too much like the B site. Don't you worry, we love your writing here and wouldn't ever reject you! I've no plans to go to another site, so haven't even checked it out.

I'm sorry that happened to you. There's been a bit of discussion about this in the BlogJob forums lately. Nobody seems quite sure why some people are being rejected seemingly without reason. I guess I should count myself lucky that I got in last year when nobody was being rejected.

@Gina145 It would be nice if they told us why we are denied but maybe because Bellestarr isn't my real name.

@BelleStarr I'm glad you feel that way. I'd still like to know what's going on because I hate the idea of recommending the site to people and then seeing them get rejected.

It seemed to me that there was a lot of work involved in making any money not that money is what drives me it isn't but I did see an awful lot of familiar names from here and other sites.

@JohnRoberts Yes I did see some of the names I knew. I think Article Document is a much better site and actually leads to real assignments that pay real money.

They did have a few days of maintenance recently, but there is a forum that is always open and the admin can be reached there. I am sorry you had that experience, but you should try again. I have almost 5,500 points there now - enough to redeem - I am aiming for 10,000 points to redeem for $100. It's definitely not like the bubble place.

Okay, here's the explanation. Because members earn points for things like joining groups, comments and even just adding friends, they have had people join who only participated by joining groups and adding friends and so the litmus test now is whether or not people join and create a site and provide some content. It's to make sure members are adding something valuable. I don't know how long they wait, it may be an automated thing that rejects members who don't start writing.

@Rollo1 well it was the same day and I didn't even have time to figure the site out. Plus if they at least told me why or said add content I would have known but to deny me 10 hours after sign up seems extreme!! It rather turns me off the site.

@jaboUK They weren't accepting new members for several months but recently opened up membership again. However they seem to have become quite strict about whom they accept now. I wish I understood how they choose "suitable" members.

@crazyhorseladycx I think you're right about them getting too many new people applying. It can't be easy to run a site that size without allowing the kind of garbage that some people posted at Bubblews, and the owner is obviously trying to do it the only way he knows how.

@Gina145 there's a healthy population 'n then there's the extreme. if'n i was runnin' a writin' place, i'd use caution myself. 'course, i'd be kind 'nough to tell folks that 'nstead'f jest sendin' 'em a dang denial. that's jest poor business practice, aint it?

I joined just before they stopped accepting new members last year. I have six blogs there now, but don't have time to add a lot to them most weeks. I'm working toward that $100 payout. After knowing many of you who've been rejected on other sites and having seen your writing, it's a mystery to me why you've been rejected while others who write poorly and just collect friends and start useless groups get to stay. Perhaps you should count your blessings and start your own site you can control. Though there's much to love about BlogJob but you do not really have all that self-hosted WordPress sites can offer you. That is your trade-off for free hosting and being in a community setting. It's possible that your rejection has nothing to do with your writing quality. My own suspicion is that they are trying to keep the site sustainable and may be rejecting members when they have all they can support for a time. It might even b a site glitch, or a temporary suspension due to the site not operating properly at the moment. I'm there and will try to make it work for me, but you are missing all that much. You're just as well off to self-host your site and join a Facebook community for support and promotion. If you'd like to do that and would like to be successful from the start, please message me for some hints.

@BelleStarr If you're doing all that, it's their loss, not yours. You don't need them. Maybe they rejected you because you are overqualified.

I'm not sure about only accepting US members on this site. I decided like a lot of others to check out the site. I applied to the site and they accepted me. I live in French Polynesia Tahiti. So I think they accept members world wide. I know that I had seen this place in the past. For a long time it didn't accept new members. A month ago when I went there it was accepting new members again. This time I tried it and applied. The site is run on points and you need 5000 points for payout. That is equal to 50 dollars. I don't have time to do this and especially when you can only earn 100 points a day. There are restrictions on how you earn points too. Seems like a lot of work for their point system and payout.

@BelleStarr Well, they would have to come up with a good reason. And that's probably why they don't do that. But I'm hearing of a lot of good writers being denied there, so even though they've accepted me, I may not stay. Makes no sense.
