Because it might be difficult to find a job with their profession. There are so many registered nurses in this country and yet then up working at a BPO company. Why is that? Because if they want to work in the hospital they have to pay! Yes, they don't get a salary, they have to pay for a volunteer fee if they want a two year experience so that they could qualify to go abroad!

Thats what you call educated illiterates..finishing school but not doing any job after.
Actually some who work on the job not fiited for their profession actually are the lucky ones. Since they we're given the chance to work even if it's not their line of expertise.

It's always an advantage to get high grades while in college and graduate with honors in a reputable school, work is so difficult these days that there is no room for mediocrity, competion in jobs is stiff but i am not saying the rest will not succeed, the advantage goes only as far as finding a job.

I think skills have something to do in finding a good job too. I have heard some employers complaining they find it hard to get employees with the skills they need. Many students do graduate every year but seems not still armed with necessary skills.

Go for study and go for work is so different. When we study, we can enjoy whatever our major but for work it is hard we go for work if we do not feel enjoy with the job. I think this is the cause of this situation.

@lourdjan It is true. There are also cases that when a person lands for a job especially in government, it is not what he knows that matter but it is who he knows.

@lourdjan Another reason why many Filipinos work abroad is our government system.
It is just disappointing that we have this contractual system that it is very difficult for a Filipino to be permanent in a job.
Another thing is the age limit. When I went to Singapore I see old people who are still working in restaurants or fast food chain, unlike here in our country that there is a certain age bracket for a particular job.
And the other problem that I see is the tax. As for me, a big portion of my salary goes to tax so even if they increase my income, I cannot still feel it. Here in our country, everything has a tax. Prices are increasing but the salary remains stagnant and if it increases, it is just a little amount.

I think it's because they are paid more in cell centre rather than the job through the course.....it job the salary raise gradually and people want a big money from the starting....
