Hunger is the word of the day

Well, it's my word for right now. I am hungry. I went to the grocery store hungry. I know, I know - never supposed to do that. But my daughter took me just at lunchtime, so it just worked out that I shopped on an empty stomach. I bought a lot of stuff. Some of it was very needed. Some of it wasn't. Some of it is chocolate. Yum. And so, now that the groceries are put away two hours from lunchtime, I have the task of deciding what to eat. But it's impossible to know what I want. The hungrier I am, the less anything appeals. It's not that I don't like any of my choices, it's just that I am VERY hungry and none of it seems good enough. When I am truly hungry, not just anything will do. I want to sate my hunger with the absolute right food choices. When you're hungry, do you eat whatever is easiest to prepare, or do you get choosier in proportion to your hunger?

When I´m hungry and in a hurry, I can grab whatever is on the fridge and make a hunger killer fast. This will allow me to calm my stomach´s anxiety while I get a real meal.

that's a good idea, eat a snack while you make a meal.

Ravenous urges usually result in rush, and rash, choices. And tempers flare if something is not consumed in short order. Funny, that - must be the caveman part of people that reveals itself at such times.

I become irrationally irritated when I get too hungry. I seem alright one minute and try to rip someone apart the next. But I did eat something, so don't be concerned. You're safe

@Rollo1 It is your blood sugar level that is too low, not a matter of willpower.

@Rollo1 My safety is your concern, nice! The reason for not shopping while hungry is to avoid the embarrassment that comes after chewing the face off the cashier when she requests the third pricecheck on your hurriedly-filled trolley...

I go to the supermarket with a list. So then most I add is something on sale, usually something that it has nothing to do with cravings.

I took a list. But some things on the list were already a little bit bad.

I can go all day without eating. I often forget if I'm busy. I do look forward to dinner in the evening, and eat very well. Enjoy your lunch, whatever you decide to eat. Choices can be daunting when hungry!

I could go all day without eating, but why do it when I have just been to the grocery store, lol. When I am truly hungry, no choice is good enough. I want something really special!

@Rollo1 We always have plenty of food in the house. I should set an alarm to remind me to eat, but eh, don't care.

I was the victim of shopping on a hungry stomach earlier in the week - what disastrous choices I made! When I'm hungry I open the fridge and, if there's nothing there, nibble on any rubbish I can find.

I was in the odd position of having meat in the house, but not the little things. And when you shop for the adjunct components of meals, you end up with proportionately more desserts than usual.

Sometimes I find it harder to decide what to eat because I have too much stuff in the house. I like the chocolate part of your shopping.

I tend to go for the easiest option. Anything that takes too long to prepare is not even considered.

I probably would have been happier if I had prepared something nice, but sometimes it is best to just go the easy route.

I am the same sometimes,...but more often than not...if i'm hungry ..i'll just prepare myself something...usually whatever takes the least amount of time , preperation and cleaning up....

The time spent on preparation always seems long, but the time spent cleaning up is just wasted time. Instead, I could be preparing more!

When I'm hungry, I eat whatever is available. I get dizzy when I don't feed my tummy immediately.

I get irritable when I am hungry, so it's best for all concerned if I eat something right away.

When I am hungry I get choosier too. I do not want to eat anything just to satisfy my urge to eat. It's a tricky matter.

I eat some cheese, or make a protein shake and let that sit for a few minutes before I start trying to make something

that is a word i associate with my children - when they got home from school they would say, Mom, I'm hungry . . . now they get home from work and say - Mom, I'm hungry . . will we ever get away from Mom and Hungry words ?

When I am hungry, I take the edge off before deciding. I grab a handful of baby carrots, jumbo black olives, celery sticks and maybe nuts. Then, once rational again, I can think straight and decide.

Not much has been appealing to me lately, yet I'm always hungry, so I can understand how the hungrier you are the more picky you are about what you want to eat.
