Can i take this?
He said no.
How about this one?
Still no.
When i pass the entrance exam here in the nearest university, i listed three courses. Courses i want to take up.
Pol. Sci., criminology and accountancy.
I asked.my father about what he can say about the courses.
He knew why i listed pol. Sci, so he said no, no budget(he smelled of prep to law, lol). Criminology, no, for he said his sons will continue his legacy though another prep to law.
Accountancy, he just said yes. And i am okay with it. Not to please him but i am.quite interested with it. And eventually love the course, that i cried a river when i didn't made the cut on my third year.
As i look back, my father have given me a favor, as if he prepared me to what i am now.
Ahh... i miss him. He is one great father, who tried everything to send his 13 kids to school.
Have you had listened to your father when he gives you advice?

My father did not say anything about the course I wanted to take up but my mother wanted me to take up Nursing just like my sister but I didn't like it. He seldom gives me advice.
Accountancy? hihihi It wasn't my first choice.

My father was a smart man, like yours. But when it came to very important issues, I rarely took his advice. And I've lived to regret that. I wasn't the smartest kid in the world. lol Your father was so amazing being able to help 13 kids! Wow!

Mam you have to listen to your own inner voice. Just follow your heart. Its your life. Live the way you want to live it. I personally never listen to my father.

It's good that you like accountancy as well. I have friends that were forced to follow their parents' choices, and they suffered a lot while in the university, as it's really not their interest at all. Yes, I think your father is really great, as he raised 13 kids and sent them to school as well.
Perhaps my parents also like the course I chose (Electrical Engineering, then IT), so they agreed with me. I do listen to my father sometimes, but I also like to go on my own way, glad that he always supports me though he might not agree with me totally.

my dad generally advised me never to trust others or take anything for granted - I wish I'd listened more closely
