Serious question.

I would say that you should follow your own heart, but try to be prepared for the possibility of rejection of you do try to find him. There are so many possibilities here. He might have been longing to see you and just didn't want to intrude on your life. I think about the movie "In Her Shoes" as I type this, and the scene where Cameron Diaz found all of the cards her grandparents had sent her and her sister through the years. You don't know what you don't know, in other words. Just don't let this define you one way or the other. Pursure him if you want to, follow your heart, but don't let his reaction, or lack thereof, be tied to tightly to your future happiness. I wish you the very best no matter what you decide.

I had a friend who was in a big turmoil over not knowing his dad, so I really feel where you are coming from. I think if it is important to you that you should follow whatever avenue you need to ~ to find this person who you know you belong to in some way. I also think it is best to go into that search with an open mind and knowing you are going to have to accept that person for who they are and not have any unrealistic expectations.
